Lucknow building collapse: 3 bodies found, death toll rises to 8

The death toll rose to eight after rescuers recovered three additional bodies from the debris on Sunday morning. The incident has left 28 people injured. The collapsed building, situated in the Transport Nagar area, contained storage warehouses and a motor workshop.According to Relief Commissioner G.S. Naveen, as reported by PTI, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) recovered the bodies of Raj Kishore (27), Rudra Yadav (24), and Jagrup Singh (35) during the rescue operation.A senior district administration official stated that the priority is now to ensure no one else is trapped under the rubble. The rescue operation is still ongoing.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed district officials to expedite relief efforts and ensure that the injured are promptly transported to the hospital for proper medical care. Defence Minister and Lok Sabha

The CMO added, “The chief minister has directed district administration officials, SDRF, and NDRF teams to the site to speed up relief work and ensure that the injured receive immediate medical attention. He also expressed hopes for their swift recovery.”In the meantime, Defence Minister and Lok Sabha MP from Lucknow, Rajnath Singh, has conveyed his condolences over the fatalities. On X, Singh said, “The news of the building collapse in Lucknow is deeply distressing. I have spoken with the District Magistrate of Lucknow to get updates on the situation. The local administration is actively conducting relief and rescue operations and is doing everything possible to assist the victims
